MSGR. FEDERICO BRITTO

PASTOR’S CORNER

March 16, 2025

May Jesus Christ, the promise of everlasting life, be with you!

We enter into the second week of Lent. We continue to focus on our relationship with God. Below, I  share with you what Pope Francis offers to us as we reflect on this season of grace and penance. From Pope Francis:

“Fast from hurting words and say kind words.

Fast from sadness and be filled with gratitude.

Fast from anger and be filled with patience.

Fast from pessimism and be filled with hope.

Fast from worries and trust in God.

Fast from complaints and contemplate simplicity.

Fast from pressure and be prayerful.

Fast from bitterness and fill your heart with joy.

Fast from selfishness and be compassionate to others.

Fast from grudges and be reconciled.

Fast from words and be silent so you can listen.”

This Sunday’s readings reiterate the promise of a covenant, mind, and relationship with God.

Just as God echoed the words: “You are my chosen Son, listen to Him,” may we listen to Him especially during this season of Lent. God calls us His chosen child and so desired to have that relationship with us. May the words of Pope Francis and Jesus Christ unites us to God and His covenant.

Peace & Blessings,

Msgr. Britto
